Aloe Cottage offers luxury self-catering holiday accommodation in Darling, near to Cape Town, South Africa. We are pet-friendly!

The holiday home has been beautifully decorated with top quality linen, furniture and artwork and enjoys magnificent views over Darling's rolling hills and farmlands to the distant mountains.

Aloe Cottage is the perfect romantic getaway for couples as well as for weekends away with friends or family holidays.

Accommodation
Downstairs comprises two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, one with twin single beds) both luxuriously en-suite, with an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with fireplace, leading via French doors to a large, sheltered veranda with built-in braai. The spacious loft has its own private entrance and contains a queen-sized bed, private sitting area, tea station and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Amenities
Aloe Cottage is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas stove, electric oven, microwave and a chef's array of pots, pans and appliances. The cottage includes a fireplace, heater, fans, books, games, a small fenced indigenous garden, and lots more for your relaxation. It also includes a television, DVD player and CD player, just in case... Either bring your own DSTV satellite smartcard or use ours for a nominal fee.

Activities
Enjoy your days unwinding on the veranda, where the only sound is birdsong, have a braai (wood is provided), watch a show with Tannie Evita, see the weaver birds build their nests, curl up with a book in the hammock, or just relax on the deep, comfy couches in front of the fireplace with some fine Darling wine. The adjacent fields of the Oude Post farm occasionally offer a glimpse of the beautiful long horns and speckled hides of the Nguni cattle. The cottage is located in an indigenous renosterveld estate with beautiful walks and trails nearby. Two mountain bikes are included for your pleasure to explore the quaint village of Darling.

Other activities: wine tasting at nearby wine farms; Darling Morning Market (1st Saturday of the month); excellent country restaurants; art galleries and local crafts; Gourmet BBQ at Cloof Estate; Yzerfontein beach; spectacular wild flowers in spring, Voorkamerfest arts festival in September, Duckitt Orchid Nursery (1st Saturday of the month, May to Nov) and Christmas in Winter at Evita se Perron (throughout July). Darling is perfectly situated to explore the West Coast and Swartland including wine farms, beaches, wildlife, birdwatching and nature.

Rates & Details

• STANDARD RATE:
  R950 per night for the cottage, irrespective of the number of guests, minimum 2 nights.
  
  WEEKLY RATE:
  R4,500 per week for the cottage, irrespective of the number of guests.
  
  PEAK TIMES
  (long weekends, flower season, etc.): Please for rates.
  
  
• Sleeps up to 6 people (or 8 at a squeeze)
• Includes all linen, towels, braai/firewood and use of 2 mountain bikes.
  
• 2 bedrooms downstairs (both en-suite), loft room upstairs (does not have its own bathroom).
  
• 50% deposit required to confirm your reservation.
  
• Payment via bank transfer.
  
• Cancellations:
  Over 30 days prior to arrival – full refund.
  15 to 30 days prior to arrival – 50% of full accommodation account will be levied. Less than 15 days prior to arrival – full accommodation account will be levied.

• Pets and children welcome (the garden is securely fenced).
